Tips For Hiring A Celebrity Impersonator

By Paulette Short

The quality of entertainment should a major priority when looking for a celebrity impersonator. There are many people out there who claim to be movie doubles of top personalities. However, they may not display the character associated with that person. Therefore, they may end up being a total waste of money. Below are some guidelines you can use when making a selection.

Consider the type of training the individual has gone through. No one can be born with the character, moves, diction, and the exact appearance of another individual. Therefore, even if they have the looks that can pass for a certain celebrity, they need to be trained to talk and behave like that person when they are on stage.

Check photos. Technology has enabled people to enhance skills in Photoshop. Therefore, before you even call up the agent, look for signs of Photoshop around the face. The quantity of photos on the website will also tell you more information about the character. If there are only a few pictures and they are not close shots, then you could be dealing with con.

Ask for a video demo. Ensure that you are provided with a high-resolution product. If it is poorly produced and you can hardly see the finer details or hears the words clearly, then do not even waste your time. You may end up with someone who looks completely different from what you expected.

There have been incidences where the person that turns up for the show is not the same with the one that was advertised. To avoid such occurrences, you can ask to be given at least two videos that show the impersonator performing at a past event. You can identify the event to confirm that it really occurred. You will also be able to know if the character has what it takes to make your guests entertained.

Ask for testimonials. Look for past clients and see what they have written about the performer. Most happy clients normally write letter of appreciation, which could be posted on the website. Remember that some people may make up these testimonials, so check the contact details so as to confirm if they really exists. It would not hurt to confirm sources claimed by the agent.

Watch out for false claims. The agent of the performer could mislead you with false praises just to get a deal. It is important that you cask them random questions and see how they respond. If they are inconsistent and their stories do not connect, then know you are being deceived. You can even ask them if you can confirm their claim with the Actors Equity Association companies.

Meet the performer first. A good agent should let you talk with their client. When you are on the phone, listen to their voice and if it resembles that of the intended celebrity. You can even request for a few seconds of mimicry just to hear what they have to offer.

Do your homework thoroughly. It will not cost you much to call around, search the internet, or even spend a few minutes with the celebrity impersonator you want to hire. If they are known, you will not face difficulties getting adequate information.

  1. My sister wants to hire a celebrity impersonator for a party. I like the advice you give about how you should ask for a video demo so that you can make sure the person looks like what you want and is good at what they do. Another thing to do is to get someone that has great rates so that you can stay within budget. http://theedwardstwins.com/
