Getting The Right Abstract Watercolor Painting You Match Your Home And Style

By Jerri Perry

There is a certain amount of skill that it takes in order to choose out the right piece of art work to properly accentuate you home. With a keen eye, and a sharp sense of style you are sure to be able to find the best abstract watercolor painting to suit your home. Before you begin your search though, you will want to get a few things straight so that you know just what you are searching for.

To start with you will need to consider the colors that you want to be used. These should go well with the rest of your decor and not clash with it. This is something that you want to stand out as the centerpiece of the room not as an eyesore. They don't necessarily need to match the colors that you already have in use but they should go well with them.

Choosing a design can be another difficult task to take on. The range of abstract art is so large that it can be overwhelming at times. It can consist of anything from a couple of paint splatters on a canvas to an intricate display of an assortment of different shapes, or anything else that the artist can come up with. Decide before whether you want the piece to make a statement or have it simply for the aesthetic appeal.

Trying to coordinate your painting with the room that you intend to put it in may not be the best way to go. Because the range of art that you can find is so large you can pretty much do anything you want with it. If your room is plain and simple adding a funky, large, and colorful piece right in the center of it will create a nice focal point in the room.

When it comes to actually purchasing the piece you have several different options to choose from. The most obvious option is to get your artwork directly from the artist. If you decide that you want to see the work up close before making a decision than you should definitely check out some of the local galleries to get a feel for the local artists that are there.

Searching online is another great way of finding some real gems that you may have not been exposed to otherwise. Most artists have their portfolios available on their websites so you can literally search through thousands of paintings from the comfort of your own home. This gives you many more options than you would have had otherwise and greatly increases your chances of finding the right one for you.

Searching through used furniture shops and thrift stores may be a fools pursuit but you never know what you might find hidden underneath all of that junk. You just might find exactly what you are searching for. The upside to this method is that the cost should be significantly less since you won't be purchasing directly from the artist.

It is important that once you have found the perfect abstract watercolor painting for your home, that it fits well into the tone of the room. Sometimes it's not possible to see this until it is physically in the room. The best way to avoid the disappointment of getting it home just to find out you don't love it is to bring a photo of the space where it will be places so that you can compare on the spot and have a better idea of how the finished product will turn out.
