You must know how much money you are willing to pay for a Disc Jockey. While new and upcoming professionals may be more willing to take a lower pay, more experienced professionals will require a higher pay. Different professionals charge different amounts, so it is advisable to look around first and compare costs before choosing who to hire.

If you know the date of the party, then make reservations as early as possible. You will avoid the disappointment of failing to get a skilled professional, which may happen if you wait until the last minute to hire a professional. Reservations can normally be made weeks or even days ahead of the actual date of the event.

Clarify with the Jockey if they have all the equipment they need or if they need you to provide a certain piece of equipment. This will prevent misunderstandings on the actual day of the party. Also, inform them to have back-up equipment in place in case there is a problem with any of the machines they are using.

Choose a professional who specializes in playing the kind of music you want. Most Jockeys will have hundreds of options to choose from during the event. If there are any particular songs you want played or you do not want played, inform the Jockey. You can handpick every song that is played at the event or you can just inform the professional what your general preferences are.

How the Jockeys carry themselves at the venue is an important consideration. Only go for professionals who have a good reputation of treating their host's guests well. They should also be well dressed during the event. Do not forget to inform the caterers to serve the Disc Jockey as well during the party.

Most Disc Jockeys can perform other functions at a wedding ceremony. They can act as professional MCs too. When hiring the professional, be sure to ask them if they provide other services as well, since some of them will not inform you unless you ask.

When looking to hire a mobile wedding DJ, you can go for an individual or a company. The advantage of working with a company is that they can be cheaper and they have multiple Jockeys available. Individual Jockeys tend to be much more experienced and they provide quality service.
